As ya’ll saw from my last post I was in NC a couple of weekends ago and it was amazing! I am really enjoying this time in my life where I can just pick up and go whenever and wherever I want. It really is a special time and I wouldn’t trade it for anything! I really began thinking more on this last night while I was watching a documentary. There was this girl who was younger than I am and was talking about being content where she was in her singleness, but here face said otherwise. She looked to me so incredibly sad about not being married and seemed to be putting marriage on this high must be obtained at all costs pedestal. Now don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with desiring to be married, praying for your husband ect., but that being said you still have to be content in where you are in life. I have by no means perfected this contentment, but I am definitely learning to appreciate this time in my life more and more. I can’t say it enough, but it is such a special time to get to know yourself better and it’s quite the sanctification process on waiting. Not that being married does not sanctify you because I have heard stories and it does :) That being said God doesn’t call every woman to marriage and I just think it’s important to keep that in perspective and to just let God work things out because He will. Thinking through all this I really want to reread Nancy Wilson's "Why Isn't a Pretty Girl Like You Married". If you haven’t read it, it’s a must! Even if you are married, it’s a great book to help you relate to the single women in your life.
Anywho….. I can’t wait to share pictures from that weekend and recap things with ya’ll! I just need to edit pictures and sift through what I want to say. It was a lot to process, but it was all very good :) Pictures will be up on my Facebook page and most of what I took will be for sale. I just love NC scenery! Until then enjoy this cutie!
She was so sweet and took a little cat nap while the other little girls played. You know you are the youngest when you can sleep through loud noise huh? :) Unfortunately by the time I went to sneak some pictures, she woke up :(
