The Promise of Spring

I am just itching for spring to come! We keep having teaser days here where it reaches into the 60′s then the next day it drops to the mid 30′s. It’s not cool! No pun intended :p So because of that I’m still doing mostly indoor sessions since it’s kinda hard to smile without looking pained :) This month’s photo challenge from Rock the Shot was something green. I did not want to do an outside session for this, even on those warm days! I also did not want to do the typical green outfit, which is why when I saw this dresser I knew I had to use it! I really enjoyed plying with the natural light in their house and I love how all the pictures turned out!  I will be sharing them soon :)  In the meantime enjoy this one!

A Weekend Away - Reflection

As ya’ll saw from my last post I was in NC a couple of weekends ago and it was amazing! I am really enjoying this time in my life where I can just pick up and go whenever and wherever I want. It really is a special time and I wouldn’t trade it for anything! I really began thinking more on this last night while I was watching a documentary.  There was this girl who was younger than I am and was talking about being content where she was in her singleness, but here face said otherwise.  She looked to me so incredibly sad about not being married and seemed to be putting marriage on this high must be obtained at all costs pedestal.  Now don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with desiring to be married, praying for your husband ect., but that being said you still have to be content in where you are in life.  I have by no means perfected this contentment, but I am definitely learning to appreciate this time in my life more and more.  I can’t say it enough, but it is such a special time to get to know yourself better and it’s quite the sanctification process on waiting.  Not that being married does not sanctify you because I have heard stories and it does :) That being said God doesn’t call every woman to marriage and I just think it’s important to keep that in perspective and to just let God work things out because He will.  Thinking through all this I really want to reread Nancy Wilson's "Why Isn't a Pretty Girl Like You Married" If you haven’t read it, it’s a must! Even if you are married, it’s a great book to help you relate to the single women in your life.

Anywho….. I can’t wait to share pictures from that weekend and recap things with ya’ll! I just need to edit pictures and sift through what I want to say.  It was a lot to process, but it was all very good :) Pictures will be up on my Facebook page and most of what I  took will be for sale.  I just love NC scenery! Until then enjoy this cutie!

She was so sweet and took a little cat nap while the other little girls played.  You know you are the youngest when you can sleep through loud noise huh? :) Unfortunately by the time I went to sneak some pictures, she woke up :(

Happy Friday!

Hey ya’ll happy Friday from NC! I wanted to share an outfit with ya.  I wore this to go have coffee with my “little bro” on Tuesday.  I was super excited to be able to go out with an adult and have adult conversation that did not include “wheels on the bus go round and round”  :P It was also a super warm day, I had been wanting to wear this dress since I got it a few months back.  Sadly it had been far to cold to pull it off since the material is so light.  Sooooo coffee day was the perfect day to pull it out :) Usually I would wear a cardigan with a dress, but I was attempting to step outside of my comfort zone, plus it felt that warm :) I am so very excited about spring being just around the corner!!!

After coffee we headed back home and played outside with the kids.  We ran down to the beach, played tag, and hide and go seek.  Then settled down to watch a kids movie I haven’t seen yet, which is always shocking to the little ones.  I haven’t even seen “Cars” yet which always gets a gasp :) If I would have had the forethought I would have brought a change of clothes instead of wearing this, mainly because during hide and go seek I was an awesome hider and was a crouch position between a golf cart and a barb wire roll for what felt like a half hour.

Well I am off I’m being beckoned to play my little ponies.  Then I have to finish up editing some pictures and soaking in some awesome scenery thrift store shopping with friends.  What are ya’lls weekend plans?

Happy Monday!

I'm not sure about ya’ll, but I’m already on my second cup of coffee going onto my third soon :) I know for me Monday’s are usually hard probably has something to do with a 6:30am wake up time…. Monday’s get a lot better with this little one.

She is such a ham and I LOVE her!! She’s having me put bows in my hair, smiling up a storm, then pulling them out and repeating it all over again :) We are also listening to her music which includes Jamie Soles which if ya’ll haven’t heard of you have to give him a listen.  His songs are Biblically sound and fun, great for little ones! Well I’m off we are getting ready to go out to play.  What helps you get through a rough Monday morning? Hope ya’lls Monday is awesome!

Who's Ready For Spring?

I took at peak outside this morning and the snow is starting to melt even more! Don’t get me wrong I love snow, but I cannot wait to start seeing some signs of spring!! Before all the snow melts I just had to capture our hydrangeas out back.  They still has a tad bit of snow clinging to them, so beautiful.  Still I cannot wait to see the color return to them!!

What are ya’ll looking forward to the most about spring?  Have a great Friday!!
