Napier

Hey Ya'll!

I have have been enjoying exploring the Hawke's Bay area.  Today I wanted to share some pictures and an outfit.  I know I haven't done much along the lines of outfit posts, but that's because I don't have my little photographers here :)

Shirt - Cotton On via "charity shop" NZ  ~$4
Skirt - hand me down from Grandma :) Thanks!
Shoes - Lucky Brand via Belks ....no clue
Hat - "Opp Shop" NZ ~ $8
Belt - thrift store Lake Tahoe

Love how this is a very international outfit don't ya'll? :) Well onto the rest of Napier. I love the feel of this city.  It was rebuilt after the 1931 earthquake and in the art deco style.  Needless to say it's pretty cool :)

Keirunga Gardens

Hey  Ya'll!

In New Zealand there are an abundance of gardens.  I dare say there maybe more gardens than people, but that may be a stretch. Now when it comes to shorelines that another story :) Anywho just up the road from us is the Keirunga Gardens and it's pretty nifty! There is a tiny train track that runs through it and you can catch a ride on it occasionally.  They also do Shakespeare theatre in an outbuilding.

Needless to say it was a lovely walk around here :)

Sweet Memories

Hey Ya'll!

As breathtaking as New Zealand is I still miss home.  I have been so busy trying to keep up with all the photographs I have taken here that I have not gone back to finish some I look before I left on this grand adventure.  So I put on my big girl pants and dove into editing them.  Defiantly not easy to do! I miss my S. Bean :) I am so incredibly thankful that I am still able to have consistent contact with loved ones back in the states.  I could not imagine being this far away and only getting letters sporadically. And I'm pretty sure S. Bean likes to talk to Fuffy as well :)

Little Russian Doll :)

Adorable kids right? Hopefully I will post a few more on my Facebook page :)

The Falls

Hey Ya'll!

In case you did not know New Zealand is home to some amazing waterfalls and I wanted to share one of them with ya'll. This is Waimarama Falls.  It's close to Waimarama beach and if you can find it (roads are not well marked here to say the least) the short walk up to the falls is filled with lush scenery. I stopped every few feet to snap a picture.  Self control does not happen in New Zealand in case you were wondering :)

There were lots of people in the water swimming and jumping off a rope.  I unfortunately didn't swim nor jump and I really need to go back and do this :) It will be my mini step in order to possibly bunny jump in Queenstown.....baby steps right? :)

Waimarama

Hey Ya'll!

I adore the beaches here one because they are stunning and they are empty most of the time.  Which is superb for an introvert who wants to listen to music and cat nap :)

Waimarama is a bit farther south than Ocean Beach and you are right next to this island, which I don't know the name to..... but it looks nifty!

Watch Dog

I am still constantly amazed by the landscape and the ever changing colours of the water.  Lovely scenery don't ya think? :)

Thirty Day Journey

Hey Ya'll!

Today (New Zealand time) marks the day on which I started this journey to New Zealand.  I still cannot believe that I have been living in another country, especially one as beautiful as this one :)

Since being here I have hiked, biked, ran and explored the surrounding areas.  Needless to say with all that activity my clothes are falling off me a.k.a. I have a legitimate excuse to go shopping.  Not that I ever need one ;) Well we all just got back from a short trip to Christchurch and I am spending the day attempting to catch up on editing so that I can share more with ya'll.  Especially from Art Deco weekend because that was just spectacular! This is not the easiest feat in the world since it's warm and sunny outside.... yeah remember it's summer here no snow :P

Anywho here are a few pictures of the incredible views off of Te Mata Peak.  I have been up here a couple of times, this time it was very cold and windy but the clouds were incredible. For a while there I thought I was back home where it's cold :)

Nifty map to give ya'll an idea of where I'm at

Yeah it's just breathtaking here!! I am loving all my little adventures here and am looking forward to many more :)
