Casual in Converse

Hey ya'll

Today has been pretty laid back.  I'm working on transferring pictures from my corrupt old hard drive.   I used it for my personal pictures while I'm editing them, my laptop is pretty full so I needed it.  So it's been fun transferring batches of pictures and just waiting for an error message (dripping with sarcasm)

I thought I would share with ya'll what I wore today. Like I said before I'm getting work done at home, but later tonight I'm meeting with clients to help plan their family's wardrobe for a photo session with moi :) So I needed something comfy to lounge around in and then go out later.  Needless to say this dress fits the bill.  I really really really wanted to buy this dress at Kohl's ages ago, but it was too much for my budget.  Then on one of my Annapolis trips I found it at Goodwill! I was super excited and grabbed it! I'm so glad I did it's super comfy!  love the mustard yellow with the gray Converse!

I also wanted to share the memory verses on my mirror :)

The shoes I just got on Saturday with my mom.  I was able to get 3 pairs of Converse for $24! The lady was kind enough to make each pair $8 when two of them were marked $10.  After putting them through the wash they look brand new! This was another item I was super excited to find at a thrift store because I have been looking for a pair for years. I refused to pay full price, so I guess waiting pays off huh? :)

As for my accesories the hair clip I also purchased on Saturday at a different thrift store.  The rings are from Khol's and on a side note I wouldn't recommend buying fine jewelry there.  The diamonds fall out, but I'm glad they haven't fallen out of these rings yet! Earrings are from JcPenny's fine jewelry clearance.  Lastly the necklace I think I got it at the flea market from my jewelry lady.  I especially love this necklace because of the windmill that is painted on it, it's so different.

Hope ya'll enjoyed the outfit! What do ya'll hang out in?

A Day in Annapolis

Hey ya'll!

A couple weekends back I took some girls to Annapolis for the day, it was a blast! I usually plan these trips for when there is a big sale at the thrift stores since it's about an hour away.  We went to Goodwill for their 50% off sale and the girls needed a particular shade of red lipstick for their ballet dance recital.  Naturally we went to Sephora.  They were like kids in a candy store with all that makeup!  I know if I would have let them they would have put on everything in there and that would have been disastrous!  It's interesting to see how even from a young age the desire to be beautiful and captivating is already there.  I could see it with every choice they made for their makeup, jewelry, and clothing :)

The girls had a blast looking through all of the makeup, I'm not sure which was their favorite Sephora or Charming Charlies. I do know that I love the pictures I got! I told them to put has much jewelry on as they possibly could, this is the result.  I LOVE it!

(Above this is my all time favorite from the day :))

I also wanted to share will ya'll my stylish little sister's outfit, mainly because it matches mine.  We didn't even coordinate, I love how I'm rubbing off on her :)

So this is another high front dress as I call them.  My CDO (OCD in alphabetical order) is slowing getting over the fact that it's not symmetrical by my standards :) My awesome friend gave me this dress while I was in Lake Tahoe with her and her friends and family.  I also got the shoes from a thrift store there.  On a side note I acquired quite the haul while I was there! I loved all the thrift stores I was able to visit! Anywho the lace cover up is Isaac Mizrahi for Target via Goodwill a while back.  I was so excited to wear this particular piece because it actually fit! I have been doing Shakeology with the 21 day fix and I'm am very happy with the results! I love that I'm feeling more active and I love how my clothes are fitting :) As far as accessories goes the earrings came in a set that I picked up in Atlanta. The bracelet is from Cracker Barrel during their 80% off extravaganza! The gold heart necklace my parents gave me years and years ago.  It's actually two sided, however I prefer this side.  The other side is diagonally split between gold and silver and has my birth stone in it. Finally the hat I think it's from Ross or Marshall's. I love wearing hats and I want to purpose to wear them more often even if I'm the only one around here who does :)

All of their loot and some of mine :) So do ya'll make a special haul trip to a thrift store?

Happy May!

Hey Ya’ll!!

I thought I would share my outfit for today and my crazy facemask :)

I really really really love this facemask! It is called the burning facemask (although my face never does) and my skin always feels super smooth afterwards!  The recipe is super easy ½ tsp cinnamon, ½ teaspoon nutmeg 1 tsp honey, 2ish tsp lemon juice (I use the bottled stuff mostly because I don’t have lemons in the house).  You heat the concoction in the microwave for about a minute and stir. Then voilĂ  you have yourself an easy peasy homemade facemask! I just love Pinterest, which is where I found it :)

So onto the outfit... I wanted to be comfy today since I would be doing a ton of sitting. I’m enjoying a day at home with my mask on still :); editing pictures, painting my nails, and cleaning up. I don’t like to feel constrained by my clothes, so this was a no brainer :p  The skirt is Sophia Max via Belk on clearance.  The shirt GAP via my thrifting adventures in NC.  The tank top may surprise ya’ll but Liz Lange maternity via Target.  For those of you who do not know me I am NOT pregnant nor have I been.  I stumbled across these on the clearance rack and I loved the length! Especially because I have to raise the neckline on tank tops (for modesty’s sake) and this holds to the length I like, even with alterations. This particular one I have not gotten around to altering yet, maybe I should add that to my to do list today :)

As for the earrings I purchased them recently at Kohls. I don’t shop there too often because I had a horrible experience with their fine jewelry, but my mom wanted to go in and found these gems! I saw a pair just like these out at Lake Tahoe, but didn’t buy them because they wanted $15 for the pair. I also knew that I could probably find them somewhere else for less.  Boy was I right, I bought these in a set of 3 in varying shapes and sizes for about 7.50!

I hope ya’ll are enjoying the first day of May! It is starting to feel more like spring, although soon it will be summer and I’m not quite ready for the humidity that comes with it!

How are ya’ll enjoying the spring weather?
